Telecare

Using Telecare on Public TransportWhat is telecare?

Imagine technology that can provide peace of mind and independence 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.  Telecare does just that - by using modern technology which links in with GPS and a centre staffed by trained specialists, you can be given support to manage your medication, use public transport, access the community or even be warned if there's a fire or flood in the house.  Sensors can also be used to detect epilepsy and alert an appropriate person.

You can have telecare installed in your home which links to a monitoring centre, carer or even a member of your family when a sensor is activated.  Calls to the centre are dealt with by trained specialist operators who find out what the problem is and send the necessary help. This could involve contacting the emergency services, the mobile response service or even a relative.  Halliday James Pocket Ace

Response UnitResponse Service

YOU also provide a telecare response service which will visit and check out the situation if an alert is raised.  This reduces pressure on friends  and family who may be unable to respond quickly.

The response service will use YOU staff trained in supporting people with learning disabilities and other care and support needs.  Response to an alert will take place within 20 minutes.

This response service is currently available in Fareham and Gosport and will soon be available across Hampshire.
