Supported Employment

Supported Employment enables people to gain the most from their skills by taking their first steps into the world of work.

The service offers people the opportunity to look for job tasters, voluntary employment or paid work with support of a vocational advisor who assists them to develop their skills in the workplace. Support needs are adjusted to reflect growing skills levels and confidence ensuring that people are supported without unnecessary intrusion.

The range of support offered includes:

• preparing job application forms
• preparing for interviews
• supporting employers to develop buddy systems so that people are able to access natural support in the work place
