SFT recommended to provide the CLAC

Southern Focus Trust (SFT) and the Portsmouth Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB) are to be recommended to provide an innovative new legal advice centre in Portsmouth.

Portsmouth City Council will recommend the joint bid of SFT and Portsmouth CAB to the Health and Social Care Executive Meeting on Tuesday 5th February 2008.

The Community Legal Advice Centre (CLAC) will provide free, independent, confidential and impartial legal advice to people in the city who require advice on:

• Welfare benefits
• Community Care
• Debt
• Housing
• Employment
• Family issues

The service will be funded by the Legal Services Commission and Portsmouth City Council and will be accessible from 1st April 2008.
